
Houston-based singer-songwriter, worship pastor, and mother of six (5 earthside & 1 daughter in heaven), Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam has a deep passion for God that shines through her voice and music. In late 2011, Rebekah caught the attention of Nashville-based record producer, Marshall Altman (Amy Grant, Brooke Fraser). Her debut album, Radiant You, funded by friends and fans through kickstarter.com and produced by Altman was released in September of 2012 and met with rave reviews and critical acclaim. Radiant You received 4.5 stars from New Release Today and 4.25 stars from Christian Music Zine! Rebekah wrote 10 original songs for Radiant You and arranged and wrote a new chorus to the Hymn, "Be Thou My Vision," re-titled "Be My Vision." Her songs "Dream Coming True", "Be My Vision", "For You" and "The Glory of it All" have been featured on “Under the Radar” airing on 225+ radio stations. In late 2014, Rebekah recorded an original Christmas Song, entitled "Noel, I Know Jesus" and it was featured on CCM Magazine's Christmas Compilation album which included songs by well known CCM Artists- MercyMe, Francesca Battistelli, DownHere and many more. "Noel, I Know Jesus" also first received radio play during the Christmas season of 2015 and continues to receive radio play.
Rebekah is a songwriter on CCLI.com with congregations across the United States accessing her music for their worship services. Some of her most well-known songs include “The Glory of it All”, “For You”, “Radiant You”, “Hallelujah, I Love You” and “Dream Coming True” which she co-wrote with husband, Moustapha El-Hakam. "Be My Vision" has been featured by "UTR Media."
Rebekah resides in the Houston, Texas area with her family.
